I’m an ambitious marketing executive with a passion for all things marketing, digital and customer experience.
While studying at the University of Manchester, I began building broad experience in digital content management. I regularly crafted content for causes that I cared about to resonate with specific target audiences, perform well on social media, and rank highly on search engines.
In addition to freelance copy and content work I produced, I had various positions of responsibility and roles which included:
- Head News Editor of The Mancunion, the University of Manchester’s student newspaper
- Communications/Marketing Intern (paid, eight-week internship), Zero Waste Europe
- Editor-in-Chief of TalkPolitics, an award-winning political campaign group
- Trainee Reporter (three weeks work experience), Johnston Press Yorkshire
- Sub-Editor, Filibuster UK
I’m now using those acquired skills in a commercial capacity, aspiring to progress in my career and become a full-mix marketing leader of the future.
In the B2B marketing roles I’ve had in the professional services sector, I’ve developed broad skills including email marketing (acquisition, nurturing and upsell), copywriting (offline and online), customer insight, event marketing, social media (Hootsuite), SEO and content management (WordPress), using reporting tools (e.g. Salesforce and Google Analytics) to help evaluate success and return on investment.
To continue my development, I strive to learn from peers (not being afraid to ask questions and bring new ideas to the table), study widely and keep up-to-date with industry changes, and generally do all I can to take responsibility for my learning and be a valuable marketing team member.
Broadly speaking, I try to write in plain English and avoid unnecessary jargon. I hope to demonstrate some of my content creation and writing skills through my blog, though a more complete portfolio of copy that I have produced can be viewed on my Wakelet profile.
